Iconic Strings captures five of the world’s best players, recorded by GRAMMY-winning engineer Sam Okell using a mouth-watering array of beautiful microphones and recording equipment from the studio's impressive collection. Mixes
Mix 1
A tight mix of the Close Condensers and LCR 1. Perfect for songwriting and general purpose.
Mix 2
A mix with more room, formed of the Close Ribbons, LCR 2, Stereo Mid and Ambients. Suitable for hearing slightly more of the room and mixing with large hall reverbs.
Vintage Mix 1
A vintage mix using Abbey Road’s vintage REDD desk, parallel compression from the RS124, all passed through the J37 tape machine.
Vintage Mix 2
An alternative to Vintage Mix 1, with added Automatic Double Tracking for a distinctly 60s effect.
Mics
LCR 1
3x M50 omni mics in an LCR formation - similar to a Tree but better matched to the ensemble size in the room.
LCR 2
3x Chandler REDD.47 omni mics in an LCR formation.
Close Condenser
The condenser spot mics, useful for a close, full sound.
Close Ribbon
The ribbon spot mics, useful for a close warm sound.
Close Vintage
The vintage spot mics, as used on iconic Studio 2 sessions.
Stereo Ribbon
A stereo XY ribbon mic, positioned at a similar distance to the LCR.
Stereo Mid
An ORTF stereo mid signal, useful for a different perspective of the quintet.
Ambient
A pair of spaced omnis positioned at the back of the room to capture the iconic Studio 2 room sound.

How does your dedicated plugin work?
Our dedicated plugin libraries work as standalone instruments in your DAW, meaning that no serial number is provided and the authorisation process happens during your download. We provide an AU, VST2, VST3 and an AAX, so as long as your chosen DAW supports one of those plugin formats, you’re good to go.

- This update brings significant improvements to the CPU handling of large voice counts. Further, loads times are improved via use of ECO Load and significant files with sample mappings.
Changes and Fixes:
- Introduces Eco Load - Technique based purging that can be found in the plugin settings.
- Improved CPU performance.
- Improved Signal Mixer Workflows with Mute / Solo functions.
- Measured tremolos changing pitch when increasing/decreasing bpm
- Reverb settings are now retained when recalling a saved session
- Multi outputs were only displayed temporarily when clicked, now multi out plugins show outputs below signals correctly
- Resolved an issue with Violin 2 Legato Portamento. CL Vintage Signal sample mappings.
- Resolved an issue where the Viola Legato had wrong notes triggered in the softest velocity layer in all Pro mics except for MIX 1.
- Other general improvements.
