The Pinnacle of Convolution with Spitfire Audio's Virtual Positioning Technology
After years of meticulous research and development, Spitfire Audio proudly presents AIR Studios Reverb Essentials– a revolutionary, effortless convolution reverb that continues to break new ground in sonic authenticity, available for everyone.
AIR Studios Reverb goes beyond traditional impulse responses, leveraging Spitfire Audio's proprietary Virtual Positioning Technology (VPT). This groundbreaking feature allows you to position your sound source anywhere within the legendary AIR Studios, capturing the precise ambience of its unique acoustic spaces.
An Audio Experience Like No Other
In AIR Studios’ “Lyndhurst Hall”, musicians traditionally face the control room, which creates a distinct reverb character. However, a lesser-known yet iconic sound is achieved with musicians facing the organ — a setup that’s synonymous with Hans Zimmer scores recorded at AIR.
To recreate both of these signature sounds within AIR Reverb, our team mirrored microphone placements on the hall floor. Combined with dedicated speaker positioning, the varied presets in AIR Studios Reverb Essentials allow you to position your virtual sound source facing either direction and capture the essence of these legendary recordings.

FAQs
WHAT IS AIR STUDIOS REVERB ESSENTIALS?
AIR Studios Reverb essentials is the light version of our first effects plugin and it is an impulse response based reverb.
Created in collaboration with the team at London's iconic AIR Studios, our own Virtual Positioning Technology allows you to tailor the acoustics of the legendary Lyndhurst Hall in any way you desire to bring your sound to life.
HOW DOES AIR STUDIOS REVERB ESSENTIALS DIFFER FROM THE MAIN VERSION?
AIR Studios Reverb essentials offers the same great sound as the full version. There is not a reduction in sound quality.
The fundamental difference is that the controls are locked for a number of parameters such as acoustic treatment of the galleries, or the canopy or the microphone positions and source radiation.
Instead, all these controls are determined by the presets.
