In collaboration with Hans Zimmer’s Bleeding Fingers Music, Fractured Strings introduces an innovative approach to articulations that offers inspirational surprises through intervallic performances and new modal colours, delivering unparalleled depth and realism. With these emotive musical gestures and our Scale Mode technology, this library lends itself perfectly to cellular, ambient, and neoclassical composing — reflecting the intricacies, patterns and contrasts found in natural phenomena.

We’ve worked exclusively with Bernard Herrmann’s estate to curate and assemble a unique set of studio orchestra ensembles, informed directly by the composer’s legendary orchestration aesthetic. Recorded at Studio One, AIR Studios by renowned engineer Simon Rhodes (Avatar, Spectre, Harry Potter, There Will Be Blood), we’ve captured players performing as Herrmann would have chosen – boisterous, lively and upfront, with patches featuring selected groups, unusual instrumental combinations, chords, effects and much more.

Mercury samples fourteen one-of-a-kind acoustic sculptures, hand-crafted by Hollywood’s premier instrument designer, Chas Smith. These creations painted the unearthly soundscapes of Dune and Interstellar, sang heroic anthems for Man of Steel and The Hunger Games, and textured terrors throughout the Saw film franchise.

At the core of the library are male vocal swells, longs and vowel sounds performed by Madrid’s Club del Rio, which blend beautifully with woodwind duo Zopli2’s breathy alto flute and bass clarinet swells and visceral playing techniques, including circular breathing. This is accompanied by Weder’s very own personalised double felted and tape piano sounds, synthesiser loops from his Juno 6 fed through various pedal effects and electronic manipulations, and a unique selection of toys and percussion hits and loops, providing gentle rhythm and momentum, including the steel tongue drum, toy piano, recorder, and kaval.
